The basics of the scrip for money program is that instead of paying for a purchase at a participating merchant with cash, check, ATM, or credit card, you make that same purchase with scrip.  Scrip is essentially gift certificates for that merchant which can be purchased in various denominations. For every ten dollars of cash given to the school, you get ten dollars of scrip, (a $10 gift certificate), for every twenty dollars in cash you get twenty dollars in scrip, etc.  It is always an even exchange. 

How does the school make money?  Holy Family is able to purchase the scrip, or gift certificates, at less than face value.  The percentage that goes to the school varies merchant by merchant but ranges from 3% to 20%.  There is a tremendous benefit to the school if all parents, grandparents, and friends of the school actively participated in this program.

Imagine all of the money that all of us spend monthly for groceries, clothes, dining out, gas, books, and music. Now imagine 3% to 20% of that total going directly to the school.  This should be the type of fundraiser that everyone can get behind. All it takes is a few minutes of time each week to fill out the scrip order form, attach a check, and send it in. It’s even a lot easier when you think about it.  You get to write one check for all your purchases and receive scrip in return. No writing checks at each merchant.  No showing identification, swiping cards, or entering PINs.  Just pay with scrip. And you are showing that you are a supporter of your school and community!

Scrip order forms are sent home weekly with the students or you can pick one up at the school office. The order form lists all of the participating merchants and the percentage of proceeds that goes to the school.  Thank you for your support!
